Carry out research into hegemony and cultural hegemony. 

• What is it?
• Which theorists are linked to it?
• Is it still relevant today?
• What is your own opinion regard it?
•  Can you relate it to specific media texts? This will help you to start building up your own case studies.

Although not solely on youth identity, I found this article which will help you understand hegemony in action. When reading articles though, think about where it has come for and who it is written by. Remember, we need to balance our arguments - Hegemony in Modern Family
